In June 2017 a severe thunderstorm rolled through southern Klamath County. The storm originated in Northern California near the city of Weed. Building from the hot afternoon heat, the storm blew northeast traveling up Highway 97 where at the Oregon/California boarder it became a severe thunderstorm that pummeled Stukel Mountain with hundreds of bolts of lightning.
I joined with a few other photographers at the base of a cellular tower located 10 miles away. At a safe distance from the storm.
I captured this image, while tightly focused on Stukel Mountain and Henley. Four bolts of lighting flashed simultaneously three are seen here touching the mountain. Two of which were so bright that merged into a brilliant flash of light.
