Bridge to Tomorrow

from 79.95

In the mid 1800’s pioneers traveled westward on the Applegate Trail for a new start in Oregon, a better tomorrow. The Applegate Trail was thought to be a safer route to Oregon than the Oregon Trail. The Trail ran between Fort Hall, Idaho where it deviated from the original Oregon Trail, through the Black Rock Desert, past the Goose Lake and Tule Lake, across the Cascades and into Jacksonville, Oregon before heading north to the Willamette Valley.

The historic Klamath River crossing is near the location of this image, now known as Topsy Reservoir.

Today travelers cross a modern bridge on Oregon Highway 66 to reach the Rogue Valley from the Klamath Basin.

Location: Topsy Reservoir, Oregon.
