It was a warm afternoon in August when I received a warning about a potential aurora in Southern Oregon, that night. This caused me to search my map of vistas to see what would work best to photograph the Northern Lights. Based on that collection, I then picked the Sinnott Memorial Overlook inside the caldera of Crater Lake National Park.
I arrived at the location before sunset and stayed until the early hours of the morning. Before moving to a secondary location within the park. (Other image - Aurora Surprise)
I also happened to capture a timelapse of the night too. See that here.
